Doug Lowell Tipton

Doug Lowell Tipton, age 82, of Erwin, passed away on Wednesday, November 06, 2024, at his residence while he was surrounded by his family. He was a native of Erwin and son of the late Donald Lowell Tipton and Juanita Moore Tipton. Doug lived most of his life in Grand Blanc, Michigan before moving back to Erwin in 1999.

He retired from General Motors after thirty years of service. Doug enjoyed golfing, fishing, working with his hands, and watching football.

In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Tipton.

Doug’s survivors include his wife of sixty-two years, Shirley Barnett Tipton; two children: Jill Tipton, and David Tipton (Julie Bledsoe), all of Erwin; two grandchildren: Anthony Tipton and Emily Tipton; sister, Cora Tipton Edwards, of Erwin; several nieces and nephews also survive.
