Dennis Allen Edney

Dennis Allen Edney, age 70, of Unicoi passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at his residence. He was the son of the late Robert “RL” Edney and Margaret Frasier Forman. Dennis was a native of Erwin but had lived in Jacksonville, Fl for fifteen years before returning to Unicoi.

He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He retired from CSX where he was a Crew Caller. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and the American Legion. He was a loving father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by both parents; an infant brother, Ronnie Lee Edney; stepmother, Pearl S. Edney; cousin, David Lee “Toby” Edney.

Dennis leaves behind to cherish his memory one daughter, Crystal Edney Nasser, and husband Ronnie “Chip”; sisters, Sandra Branham and husband Tommy of Orange Park, FL and Linda Crain and husband Tommy of Telford, TN; one grandson, Ben Williams, and Osiris; one granddaughter, Addison Vance; three nieces, Margaret “Dee” Moore, Tammy Brown, and Kristina Branham; one nephew, Kelly Branham; special friends, W.L. Renfro, and wife Libby; several great nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Dennis will be laid to rest Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Rev. E.L. Wheeler will officiate. Pallbearers will be Ben Williams, Alex Diaz, Will Collins, Robert Spencer, Drew Edney and Chip Nasser. Everyone is asked to meet at the new annex of the cemetery at 10:55 AM Tuesday.
