Denlis Foster, age 89, of Erwin, Murray Branch Community, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at his residence. He is a son of the late Robert F. and Zula Farnor Foster. Denlis was a lifelong resident of Erwin.
He was a United States Army Veteran. Denlis retired from Hoover Ball in 1997, after thirty-nine years of service. He was a member of Coffee Ridge Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent.
Denlis loved nature and going for walks throughout the Murray Branch Community. He was an avid fan of UT Football.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers: Clarence, Raymond, Ernest, Calvin, Leonard and Allen Foster; two sisters: Betty Pate and Audrey Renfro.
Denlis leaves behind to cherish many wonderful memories, his wife of sixty-five years, Lelian Willis Foster; one son, Mark Foster and wife, Joy Beth Foster; two grandchildren: Jarrod Blake Foster, and Valerie Lee (Mitchell); three great grandchildren: Calvin Lee, Christian Lee, and Colin Lee; one brother, Mike Foster; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Reverend Phillip Garland will officiate the 1:00 p.m. funeral service. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
