David Clinton Edwards

David Clinton Edwards, age 78, Erwin, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, October 29, 2022. He lived most of his life in Erwin and is the only son of Mable Chandler Edwards and the late Walter Clinton Edwards, who passed away on December 1, 2009.

David was a member of Clear Branch Baptist Church. He enjoyed going to church with his parents and being around his church family. David faithfully prayed before each meal, and he never went to bed without saying a prayer.

While he was growing up his father was stationed in Germany and David had fond memories of living there for over three years. David loved camping and spent the winters camping in Florida City with his parents. He liked playing in the ocean, swimming pool and any activity which involved water.

David had a record player and loved playing his music with Lawrence Welk being his favorite musical artist. He never missed watching his three favorite game shows: The Price Is Right, Let’s Make a Deal and Wheel of Fortune. David’s favorite foods were roast beef, which his mother made for him every Sunday, ice cream, cookies, and chips.

He leaves behind his precious, loving, and devoted mother who is 102 years old, Mabel Chandler Edwards; his Aunt Helen Edwards; his special cousins: Debbie Hobson, Tony Chandler, Tammy Jones, and Tammy Tipton; several other cousins also survive.

The visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2022, at the funeral home chapel. David’s service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Roselawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum on Friday with Pastor Kevin Laws officiating. His entombment will follow. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the mausoleum by 1:50 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, his mother request donations be made in memory of David to: Clear Branch Baptist Church, 597 Clear Branch Road, Erwin, TN 37650.
