Darrell Wayne Holloway

Darrell Wayne Holloway, age 78, of Elizabethton, passed away on Sunday, December 07, 2025, at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born and raised in Erwin to the late Haru and Lucy Buchanan Holloway. Darrell lived most of his life in Elizabethton.

He retired from American Water Heaters after several years of service. Darrell was a member of Sweetwater Church of God.

Darrell loved being on the lake in his pontoon boat and dirt track racing. He was a former Assistant Coach for the Hampton Elementary Girls Basketball Team. Darrell had an infectious smile and generous heart. To know Darrell was to love him.

In addition to his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by three sisters: Freida Lightfoot, Jenny Tucker, and Tracey Holloway; two brothers: Allen Holloway and Kyle Holloway.

Darrell leaves behind to cherish many wonderful memories, his loving and devoted companion of thirty-six years, Carolyn Street of Elizabethton; son, Doug Holloway of Erwin; grandchildren: Amber, Johnathan, and Jasmine; five great grandchildren; brother, Johnny Holloway (Lucille) of Erwin; sisters: Janie Zimmermann (Rick) of Glendora, New Jersey and Lorie Holloway of Sevierville; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Darrell’s funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, in the Evergreen Mausoleum. Reverend Craig Shelton will officiate. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the mausoleum by 10:50 a.m. on Friday.
