Darrel Edwards Obituary

Darrel Eugene Edwards, age 62, Flag Pond, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020 at his residence. He is the son of the late Raymond and Helen Sparks Edwards. Darrel was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County. He attended Jennie Moore Presbyterian Church. He was employed at NN Ball and Roller. Darrel enjoyed working on old cars and raising roosters. He liked his dogs, Bo, Missy, and Goober. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Raymond Wayne Edwards on August 9, 1999. Darrel leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Michelle Riddle (Edwards), one son, Jess Edwards, Flag Pond, two daughters: Amanda Benton, Unicoi, Megan Edwards, Erwin; two sisters: Sandra Tipton (Gary), Erwin, Beverly Silvers (Stanley), Flag Pond; eight grandchildren: Andrew Edwards, Ezekiel Benton, Chevelle Benton, Dora Benton, Emma Briggs, Lilah Briggs, Alyas Cordero, Reyna Faye Cordero; two half-sisters: Brenda Sue and Karen. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday, March 13, 2020 in the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Lincoln Shelton will officiate at the 7:00 PM funeral service. Music will be provided by Jamie Tipton. Pallbearers will be Andrew Edwards, Cedric Benton, Travis Briggs, Ricky Joe Shelton, Ben Sparks, and Scott Higgins. Committal service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday in the Edwards Family Cemetery, Edwards Branch Road. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:30 PM to go in procession to the cemetery.
