Christine (Waddell) Wheeler

Christine Waddell Wheeler, age 67, Unicoi, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus on Saturday, January 28, 2023. She was born in Marshall, North Carolina to the late James and Jean Taylor Waddell. Christine lived most of her life in North Carolina before moving to Unicoi in 2012.

She retired from Industrial Sewing after several years. Christine attended Unicoi Freewill Baptist Church. She loved God and was a born-again Christian. Christine enjoyed crafting, drawing, watching Sci-fi movies, collecting miniature nick knacks, making sweet treats and cooking. She loved growing a garden, working in her yard, and tending to her flowers. Christine was a sweet, caring woman who loved spending time with her family, especially her five grandsons. She liked decorating her home for her two favorite holidays, Christmas and Easter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Wheeler in 2010; three brothers: John, Glenn and Bob Ledford.

Christine leaves behind to cherish her memory, her two daughters: Michelle Ruby (Gary) of Unicoi and Kellie Bass (fiancé, Nicholas Owens) of Clarksville, TN; five grandsons: Charlie Ruby, Thomas Ruby, Michael Owens, Gabriel Owens and Matthew Ruby; two sisters: Wilma Edwards (Rex) of Leicester, NC and Clara May Bullman of Black Mountain, NC; her fur baby, Lily; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Christine’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Chapel Church, 21 Rollins Road, Marshall, NC 28753. Pastor Charles English and Pastor Wade Rice will officiate.
