Buster Edwards, age 89, Erwin, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at his residence. He is a son of the late John and Leona King Edwards. Buster was a native of Yancey County, NC and lived most of his life in Unicoi County.
He was a United States Army Veteran. Buster retired from C.E. Refractories where he worked in the Shipping Department for many years. He was a member of Canah Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
Buster loved working in the yard and being outdoors. He enjoyed riding horses and trading cars.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-nine years, Patty Sue Correll Edwards on February 1, 2021, and one sister, Evelyn Hampton.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son, Rick Edwards and his daughter, Pam Street; four grandchildren: Chasity Harness, Dusty Edwards, Travis Hensley and Taylor Street; ten great grandchildren; one sister, Jean Bailey; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Entombment services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, in the Evergreen Mausoleum. Reverend Kevin Laws will officiate. Everyone is asked to meet at the mausoleum by 10:45 A.M. Wednesday.
