Buford Whitson

Buford Whitson, age 77, Johnson City, passed away Monday, April 4, 2022, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. He was a native of Pigeon Roost, NC and a son of the late Starlin Whitson and Anna Mae Johnson Whitson.

Buford was a retired truck driver, having spent over forty years in the trucking industry. He enjoyed working in his yard and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Shane Whitson; one sister, Susie Whitson Harris.

Buford leaves behind to cherish his memories, five brothers: Brad Whitson and wife Judy, Murfreesboro, Dennis Whitson and wife Faye, Erwin, Gene Whitson and wife Brenda, Johnson City, Eddie Whitson and wife Kathy, Dublin, Ohio, Runt Whitson and wife Gaye, Erwin TN; two sisters: Martha Gale, Johnson City, Trula Carter and husband Doug, Elizabethton; two stepdaughters: Crystal Fair and Bobbie Woods; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; special friends: Eugene Fields, Bill Whiley, Bill Birchfield, Dean Street, Walt Johnson and Big Mike.

Per Buford’s request no services will be held.
