In Loving Memory of Brown Low Ray
July 17, 1948 – February 22, 2026
Brown Low Ray, age 77, of Flag Pond, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 22, 2026. He was a lifelong resident of Flag Pond and son of the late Oscar and Lilla Tipton Ray. He lived a life rooted in faith, family, and love.
Brown was a devoted member of Sweetwater Church of God, his faith in the Lord always shone through in everything he did. He found joy in worship and fellowship. Today, we find comfort in knowing he is singing in Heaven, lifting his voice in praise just as he did here on earth.
Brown was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was known for his steady strength, kind heart, and the warmth he brought into every room. His family was his greatest blessing, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Brown led by example-through hard work, integrity, and unwavering love.
Though our hearts are broken, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life and peace that comes from knowing he is resting in the arms of his Savior. His legacy of faith and love will continue to guide and inspire all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Brown was preceded in death by his son, James “Keith” Ray; brothers: Eddie Ray, and Emmit Wippie Ray.
He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Virginia Mae Cutshall Ray; daughter, Selena Ray Hoyle and husband, Jimmy; grandchildren: Brandon Lee Randolph, Coby Low Ray (Alex), Jaxson Jay Hoyle; great granddaughter, Ivy Grace Withers; siblings: Doyle Tipton, Phillip Ray (Jeannie), and Jane Ann Pate (Bill); several nieces, nephews, and lots of family who will forever treasure his memory and carry his spirit forward with pride.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Amedysis Hospice and Nikki Richardson.
