Billie Marie (Edwards) Harris

Billie Marie Edwards Harris, age 93, of Erwin, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 01, 2026, at Christian Care Center of Unicoi County. She is a daughter of the late Solomon Edwards and Estie Fox Edwards. Billie lived most of her life in Flag Pond and Erwin.

She was a member of Lower Rice Creek Baptist Church. Billie was a homemaker and she was also a babysitter for many years. She took care of many children in the Flag Pond Community for several years.

Billie loved her family dearly and she always put her family first. She enjoyed cooking delicious meals and she always had a hot meal for everyone who visited her home. Billie loved growing and working in her beautiful flower garden. She took great pleasure in walking five miles every day for several years.

In addition to her parents, Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Raymond Harris; daughter, Gail Harris; several brothers and sisters.

Billie leaves behind to cherish many wonderful memories, her two daughters: Teresa Farmer (Eddie) of Flag Pond, and Rita Harris of Asheville, North Carolina; grandchildren: Fatima Wood (Jon), Marlee Rice (Riley), and Kathy Jo Farmer; great grandchildren: Lovella Wood and Solomon Wood; sister, Jackie Ricker; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Billie will be announced at a later time.
