Barbara Jean (Tilson) Brackins

Barbara Jean Tilson Brackins, age 79, Erwin, passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Erwin and a daughter of the late Elmer and Rosie Williams Tilson.

Barbara was a member of Lower Higgins Creek Church of God. She was formerly employed by Morrill Motors and Tennessee Abrasive.

Barbara was the best mother, grandmother, sister and friend in the world. She will be dearly missed.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl J. Brackins on September 29, 2001; her twin sister, Alice Brackins and sister, Carolyn Stair.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, two sons: DeRon Brackins, Unicoi, DeWayne Brackins, Erwin; two daughters: Sandy (Michael) Lloyd, Flag Pond and Brenda Fender, Erwin; six grandchildren: Ben Clouse, Jason Clouse, Zerena Jones, Nick Fender, Shawn Brackins and special granddaughter, Shemeira Brackins; nine great grandchildren; three brothers: Bill (Vivian) Tilson, California, JD Tilson, Erwin and Taylor Tilson, Montana; two sisters: Elizabeth Fowler and Dorothy Richardson, both of Erwin; several nieces and nephews also survive.

A private family viewing will be held on Monday. Graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM on Monday, May 10, 2021 at the Evergreen Cemetery Portico. Pastor David Shelton will officiate. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 2:20 PM. Pallbearers will be Ben Clouse, Jason Clouse, Hunter Clouse, Michael Lloyd and other family members.
