Austin Butler

Austin Butler, age 56, Erwin, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at the Erwin Health Care Center. He was born in Buladean, North Carolina to the late Cameron Butler and Alice Campbell. Austin lived most of his life in Erwin.

He was a member of Unaka Springs Freewill Baptist Church. Austin was a truck driver. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and he liked to watch NASCAR and WWE.

Austin leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of ten years, Lisa Higgins Butler; son, Cameron Butler (Mindy), of Erwin; two grandchildren: Haly Butler and Sebastian Butler; two brothers: J.C. Butler (Venita) Spruce Pine, NC and David Roberts, Erwin; one sister, Mary Yelton, Erwin; his two dogs: Buddy and Sugar; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Unaka Springs Freewill Baptist Church. Reverend Matthew Robinson will officiate the 2:00 p.m. funeral service. Interment will follow in Higgins Family Cemetery, Rocky Fork Community. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations be made to the funeral home to help with Austin’s funeral expenses.
