Arnold Foster Obituary

Arnold Lee Foster, age 88, Erwin, passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021, at the Center on Aging. He lived most of his life in Unicoi County and is a son of the late Dana Bruce Foster and Bessie Isabella Wilson Foster.

Arnold was a United States Army Veteran. He retired from Nuclear Fuel Maintenance Department after twenty-five years of service.

Arnold was an old time Christian, worshipping biblically and when his health permitted Arnold attended Mountain View Church in Castlewood, VA. He loved his church family. After Arnold accepted the Lord as his Savior, he never looked back, and his goal was reaching Heaven. Arnold endured until the end. “But he that shall endure unto the end the same shall be saved.” Matthew 24:13 KJV

Arnold was a humble, kind and gentle man. He enjoyed the outdoors, rabbit and grouse hunting but his love was catfishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Bradley Foster; two brothers: Floyd and Guy Foster; two sisters: Penny Foster and Dorothy Webb; brother-in-law, Bill Webb.

Survivors include his special niece, Retia Shealy and husband, Terry; several nieces, nephews and cousins, including the following families: Bradley family, Shannon and Kelly Blevins, his special boys which were Arnold’s pride and joy, Carson and Cooper Rutherford; special friends: Andy McIntosh, Robbie Campbell, Dwayne Casey, Brandy Horton and Lynn Tipton.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to The Center on Aging Staff for their care and love to Arnold. All of you held an incredibly special place in Arnold’s heart and our family will be forever grateful.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, from 11:00 AM until the time of service in the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Preacher Dwayne Riddle and Preacher Bill Osborne will officiate the 1:00 PM service. Military Honors and interment will follow in the Roselawn Memory Garden.
