Andy Williams Obituary

Andy Fitzgerald Williams, age 60, of Erwin, passed away on Sunday, March 08, 2026, at his residence, while he was surrounded by his family. He is the son of the late Gerdine Williams and Margaret Gouge Williams.

Andy was a proud United States Navy Veteran (HM3), having served his country honorably as a member of the Tennesse National Guard, and as a Field Medical Service Tech and Hospital Corpsman for six years. During his military career he was awarded a National Defense Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (3 awards), South West Asia Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Combat Action Ribbon, 9MM Expert Medal, Kuwaiti Liberation Medal, and Joint Service Achievement Medal.

After Andy completed his military training, he began his career with the Veterans Administration where he continued working in the hospital serving his fellow veterans. Andy was an advocate for homeless veterans and volunteered many hours helping them.

Andy attended Northeast Technical Community College and ETSU where he enjoyed taking a variety of classes, especially in the technology field of study.

Andy was an active member of Haven of Love Church. He was a man of faith with a selfless heart. Andy was always looking for any opportunity to help others in any way he could.

He loved people, especially children. Andy never met a stranger. Some of Andy’s favorite hobbies included building military tank models, classic car models, listening to 80’s music while going on long drives, gaming, and Sci-Fi.

Andy was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Spending time with his family meant the world to Andy.

Andy leaves behind to cherish many wonderful memories, his wife of ten years, Jacque Williams; two children: Sara Williams, and Tyler Burns (Annie), all of Erwin; grandchildren: Aubree Hensley, Cameron “Concrete” Smith, Bella Burns, Caden Harmon; brothers: Shane Williams (Becky), Don Williams (Renae), Brenda Byrd, and Julia Williams; sister-in-law, Jennifer Grooms (Scott); nieces and nephews: Layla Batista, Julie Batista, Austin Grooms, Abel    Grooms, Abby Grooms; great nieces: Adeline, Lilly, and Alani Grooms.

The Williams family will receive friends on Monday, March 16, 2026, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Reverend Timothy Ray Hyde will officiate the 6:00 p.m. funeral service. Andy’s wife, Jacque, will deliver his eulogy. Committal will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery, Historic Site. Military Honors will be rendered by the United States Navy Honor Guard. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend Andy’s committal are asked to meet at the Mountain Home National Cemetery (Historic Site) by 12:55 p.m. on Tuesday.
