Alta Stella Stockton Farmer, age 99, of Flag Pond, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus on Saturday, January 24, 2026. She lived most of her life in Flag Pond and is a daughter of the late Roscoe Stockton and Leakie Arwood Stockton.

Mrs. Farmer retired from Industrial Garment after thirty years of service. She was a member of Roseville Baptist Church. Alta loved the Lord with all her heart, and she enjoyed listening to gospel music.

Mrs. Farmer was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Spending time with her family was very important to her. She took great pleasure in taking care of her family. Alta cooked delicious meals for her family and friends. She grew and tended to her big vegetable garden. Alta enjoyed canning and making apple butter.

She loved traveling to the beach with her family. Alta absolutely loved shopping and clipping her coupons for a great deal at the grocery store!

In addition to her parents, Alta was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Winston Farmer in 1995; one grandson, Richard Farmer; five brothers and five sisters.

Alta leaves behind to cherish many wonderful memories, her three children: Phyllis Metcalf (Arthur) of Flag Pond, Dallas Farmer of Elizabethton, and Eddie Farmer (Teresa) of Flag Pond; grandchildren: Gary Carter, Tammy Blackwell, Art Metcalf, Kathy Jo Farmer, Brandi Nelson, Ricky King, and Marlee Rice; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brother, A.J. Stockton (Margaret) of Jonesborough; sister, Sarah Stockton of Johnson City; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

The Farmer family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026, at the funeral home. Reverend Craig Shelton will officiate the 7:00 p.m. funeral service. Music will be provided by Teresa Farmer.
